I quietly say "I'll cover the north" and (javelin and battleaxe in-hand) move to 807.
Alexis, how does stealth interact with my Sage abilities? This doesn't impact my choices now, but it would be helpful to know for the future. I understand the system on the wiki, but I don't know how Sure-footedness functions with regard to those rules.
I plan to make sure-footedness a collection of moving effects; so, in addition to stealth, you'll get bonuses for not falling off things, walking along ledges and edges, not putting your feet in the wrong places . . . and moving silently.
At first level, in this atmosphere, you should roll 2d4 & 1d6, then subtract 1 for your level. Judging by the floor, this should let you know how close you can expect to get without being noticed.
Yes, it isn't a secret roll; but it could be adjusted by the level of an opponent, though probably not in this case.
Just for the record, don't go making stealth rolls until informing me you want to do so. No one should ever be making any roll until it is confirmed by me as appropriate (as in, go ahead and take your turn, meaning move and roll to hit).
I suppose I should point out that given your present location, you're closer than that to one of the holes where the beetles emerged before. Now, I recognize that Embla wasn't here for that, but we may assume that Lothar and Engelhart were definite about the beetles emerging from "glowing pits" last time. That does appear to be something of a pit just ahead of you.
I'll be honest and say that I assumed that, having spoken to Engelhart with my instructions I assumed I had spent AP, and that therefore my turn was over, with the unspent AP going to the void.
That was my bad for not communicating more clearly.

I want to throw my handaxe sooooooo badly right now. The temptation to splat this bug is crazy high.
No need to initiate Barrow Mound TPK pt 2 though.
Pandred will gesture towards the spear near Engelhart and call out in a hoarse whisper.
"Toss that thing a little closer friend."
Something else to hurl in case the battle goes that way. Might as well make preparations while we wait for Lothar to make his descent.
Can you confirm, is Lothar next?

Thank you for the information. This will be useful (maybe even within a round or two).
Go ahead and roll your stealth. You may already be within the circle of it.
I rolled a 6, so that makes a radius of 5 hexes from the beetle, right?
That's correct.

By "ahead of you", are you referring to the glow marker in 803?
If possible, in the light of this information, I would like to refrain from moving to 807, choosing instead to move to 709.
"Pandred, fall back a pace" I whisper. "We may be able to rush and surround them, as they surrounded you."
Change in position so noted.
I come down the ladder next.
Engelhart moves towards 0811, stowing his hammer and picking up the spear along the way.
I'm not certain, but I think that Pandred means to keep his place. As such, I think I can move on.
The next post is up.
I'm sorry, I should have clarified.
