Oddsdrakken is very pleased to see the party also.
He pauses in leading the donkey to shout his happiness, and others behind him pile up and give curses. With some difficulty, the halfling pulls the donkey out of the line and to the side.
He tells you that he and Valda are camped, along with about a hundred others, just hundreds of paces from the opening of Mimmarudla. Oddsdrakken has been inside the top level of the dungeon, the first part, where you met the wood creatures by the well, but no further. There are workmen everywhere, hauling out everything that is of value. They are plundering the very stones in the walls.
Valda is relatively well. She sustained an injury, which can take a long time to heal. She was unconscious for a time but she woke this morning, with the help of a healer who helped her. She isn't like to move. To feed her, and himself, Oddsdrakken took advantage of the situation and the mule to earn some coppers dragging stone up to the carter's post.
Before they could reach safety, they encountered a patrol of froglings east of the lake. They backtracked from there, and camped by the lake ... but they could see strange boats, with green lights, approaching them from the water and they beat a hasty retreat inland.
Soon after, there began a running battle. They managed to shake all their pursuers save one; Petar's dagger broke; Valda fell from a ledge and broke her ribs. Petar led the frogling away, but he could not shake it all together. When Oddsdrakken found them, they were both dead.
He returned to Valda, made her comfortable. Then a human patrol arrived; they took Valda with them and a man stayed behind to help Oddsdrakken bury Petar and the frogling. When Valda was well, they meant to exhume Petar's body and return him to town, for a proper burial.
Has the halfling left anything out?

I believe that covers it. Engelhart, Pandred, let's see what we can do to get Valda back on her feet. Then we can arrange for Petar to be given a proper burial.
Oddsdrakken is going to dump the load of stones from his donkey, then show you the way to the tent where Valda is.
I'll leave that particular bit of healing to our esteemed cleric for the moment.
Just to clarify, these are all independant treasure-hunters? Does Oddsdrakken know if the carter's post belongs to anyone in particular, or if it's part of some larger guild? I'll be sure to ask Oddsdrakken so.
I'll also ask how easy it is to move in Mimmarudla, if he knows of anyone who's traveled deeper in than we have.
Either way, I'm ready to delve down and see how these claim jumpers handle themselves when we unleash Frogling Horde 2: Rogaland Boogaloo.
Oh, no, this is a joint effort on the part of the Prince and the City of Stavanger. The workers are all employed by the town's hall.
They've been warned that there might be holes or hidden rooms that were not cleaned out, so they shouldn't wander or go deep into the dungeon's recesses ... but there have been no incidents since this started on Saturday.
I ask the he takes us to her, that I may cast Cure Light Wounds on her (roll pending).
After checking on her and making sure that she is on the mend, I propose that we delve a little and see if we can get ourselves into some trouble (or wealth).
Also, what ever came to be about the wooden tower?
Oh, the tower was destroyed by Haakon Gerhard, a trading patrician who raised a private army in the fight. He was ordered to take down the tower and ensure that none there escaped.
Valda is just a few hit points shy of curing her injury, a broken collar bone. She needs seven total hit points to reach full.
Seven is precisely the number that I roll. She's as good as new.
I'm now waiting for us to move out. I guess I can question some workers on whether there have been any chambers or paths that they've avoided up 'til now.
Moving at the hound's sniffing pace (the hound is wagging its tail next to Valda) has taken you a lot of the day. It is about 3 in the afternoon; Oddsdrakken has just worked a full day handling the donkey. You've been crawling over hill and dale for six hours.
Ok, time out and let us prepare a celebratory meal, then.
Time to hand out the new wood cups I've bought and let some frothy beer flow.
You should all eat four lbs. of food today.
Alright. We'll be ready come the morn.
I'll dip into my salve to ease my few remaining aches, rolling a 2.
I've got my squire covered, and I'll be all too glad to have the extra pair of hands again.
I know Petar, Willa, and I were all close - were Petar and Willa involved?
I have updated the party's food tracker - taking the food out of the common stores. Individual rations are all intact.
(as a reminder: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17DSzgmZa4HZncyFkuwax50Gh3RMY-LEgDB2GeGX0aCI/edit?usp=sharing is a spreadsheet I set up to track food)
(269.37 lbs of food remaining)
[I'm sorry, all. I continue to be deeply ill]
Give me a suggestion as to what entrance you'd like to explore. There is a great deal of activity around the barrow entrance, the first you went into. The alternate entrance has been found by the scavangers (the hound would have shown them, before it came into Lothar's hands), but it is not getting as much attention.
Don't know about the rest of the group, but I want to go back down Mimmarudla prime. We had to back out after the frogs first emerged, but I want to see if that particularly aggressive creature that was mashing on the doors might still be there, and if not, see what else is down there.
Plus, I want to see what happened to the barn outside!
[What's the story, Alexis? Didn't know about you being ill.]
I'm with Pandred on this. I mean, we know from the reports that whatever was behind the door was dispatched, but I'm still curious as to how/where it lived.
I'd rather go around back, it seems as though the front door is pretty well claimed at this point. Might be able to get the rest of our pots and pans now that we have a baggage train...
Maybe, but they got run over by a bunch of soldiers who followed us in. There's a good chance they're gone.
Both entrances have been hit by others already, I'm just more interested in the one that also happens to be closer to us and at one point featured a big bad to tumble with.
I'm with Lothar - the main entrance is likely to be very hectic, with little chance of us finding anything of interest.
*fumbles around his purse, fishing for a copper, drawing one out with a grin*
Coin toss?
[I delegate it on Alexis, both for ease of reference, and as I may well have to hit the sack in the meantime.]
I'll take a toss, but I just don't see the value of the other entrance.
Unless we or someone else builds a solid bridge at that chasm, and we get a workable set of stairs built into the initial entrance closet, getting in and out is a pain that's doubled when we're carrying treasure to capacity.
If we had a barge that we could park below, and just toss things down without worrying about it, I'd be more interested in what's behind the magic door.
As it stands, the main entrance is just easier and more interesting to me in every way.
A toss says the front entrance.
Then I'll start off down that way with Oddsdrakken in tow.
I follow Pandred.
[I've been slowly feeling better all day; binge watching Outlander]
I hate to ask, but ... what about the donkey?
[I'm glad you are starting to feel better]
I was just thinking about our donkeys. Does Willa feel confident that she can look after them both? If so, I'll leave them in her care.
It's our donkey, right? I can split the feed between animals, gives us two weeks before we'd need to get more.
So bring it along with us. We've got a lot of animals to stow somewhere anyhow.
We have two donkeys, and one of them has a cart. At some point, we'll need to leave them behind.
The next post is up at last.
