United in the Subterranean

[To begin, I've been to the doctor and I'm fine; no cracked bones or any problems, I'm just suffering from a big ol' bloated foot, which should shrink down in the next few days.  I'm at work, talked to my boss about it, and I'm off work until Monday]

I think it is best to just bring the whole party together at the place where they were left on the ledge.  I rolled a die last night for a wandering monster and got a 4, so you're off the hook on that account (and me too, as it would be hard to run with that today].  Please assume that you've shared all information between each other, so that the people below know what's happened with the people above and vice versa.

As far as agenda, I leave that up to you.  The bridge planks have been laid down, and your gear and stuff is still being partly carried by the hirelings and the porters.  Let me know what you'd like to discuss and what you'd like to do next and we can progress from there.

I am very hungry, and would like a bite to eat before we set off to the audience chamber.

Break bread, then proceed to sleep on our collected full bellies to erase our stat penalties, how's that for an idea?

Alexis said : "You also know how far away it all is ... but I will reserve that until the rest of the party returns."

Can we get an answer to this question?

Also, we are accompanied by Willa, Valda and 3 porters.

We have 405 lbs. of food, enough charcoal for 10 days, and 3 additionnal lanterns. [I'm keeping count of the supplies.]

Each porter can carry up to 100lbs.

Using the keg and the rope, how complex is it to get some water from down there? (or do we have to have people go back to the "brigde" to gather some?)

I propose we all eat our full and initiate a full rest, with the followers keeping guard over all of us if they are ok with this.

After this, we can continue our exploration. I'd like there to be at least 2 persons with the porters at all time, and possibly a third person at camp if there's no one (good thing ther's 3 followers).

You can camp here, I think there's enough room to start a fire and feed it, though it will be a bit cramped and you will be strung along the ledge (which I will remind you is 8 feet wide). The throne room is four hours away and something of a climb.

I think the ledge is too small and uncomfortable to grant us the full rest we need. We have a large group at this point. Lets eat and get to the chamber, where we can set up a more permanent camp.

Lothar Svensson said...

So we eat, then go to the throne room and make a proper camp?

Rob Munro said...

Ah yes, I forgot we were on the ledge, still.

Should we eat here,
balance the load between ourselves
and push it to the throne room before we really establish camp ?

Engelhart Askjellson said...

Let's camp here, since the ref deems it viable. The group that went to the surface and back has been walking non-stop for... 2 days?

Alexis Smolensk said...

Absolutely, Rob. The wall that Lothar perceives is two days away. The cliff, a half day beyond that. In all, some 17 miles.

This would seem impossible, as that would put you in the sea, as far as the map is concerned. Apparently, the cavern drops, then doubles back. Lothar has a sense of that much, but except for what's been described already, he has little detail.

I'll need to people who have come down, 8 persons in total, to each four pounds of food each, reaching the subterranean party (32 lbs.). Then 6 more pounds for each of the three who were slowly starving (putting them at a further -15%, to their stats at this time). That's -5% for a day on half rations, then -10% for a day on no rations. I believe this rates Lothar at slightly different from Fjall and Mikael.

Yes, 2 days, to answer Engelhart's last question.

Unknown said...

I have myself (and Fjall, as we have been here the longest) at 60% of our usual stats. Please correct me if I miscounted, I have been on this ledge a long time now.

My vote is we eat and move on. If I am outvoted, so be it, but I have been on this ledge for the better part of a week now.

Lothar Svensson said...

If we can rest here on the ledge to get our stats back up, I'm for that. If not, I want to get to that place ASAP

Rob Munro said...

Ok, so let's sleep here today and move on the morrow.
[I noted -38lbs. of food]

Alexis Smolensk said...

You'll have to make up your minds. Vote.

Unknown said...

Can we acheive a "full rest" here? I assume no, but others assume yes.

Engelhart Askjellson said...

Mikael: Alexis already stated a "yes" a few comments above. I wouldn't choose to settle here if not for that, either.

Unknown said...

In the case we rest here

Rob Munro said...

I vote for sleep and rest here.

Engelhart Askjellson said...

(On second reading, what was stated was that we could _camp_, but since that much was already implicit, what with the time we've already spent here, I interpreted it as meaning "full rest", but now I'm not so sure: Alexis?)

Lothar Svensson said...

Rest here. (for clarity)

Unknown said...

That was why I was confirming. My reading was that it would not.

Unknown said...

Eh, screw it, I am thoroughly outvoted. Rest it is.

Engelhart Askjellson said...

Yes, Mikael, I definitely jumped to a conclusion. Let's be positive: if I can replenish spells, my healing you folks will be as good as a full rest.

Engelhart Askjellson said...

(Also, if we _do_ rest, I'll cast Aid on Rob before we turn in, so that his injury will be completely healed.)

Rob Munro said...

[by the way, engelhart, I did not get how much healing you gave me yesterday. Have you written it somewhere?]

Engelhart Askjellson said...

I never got about rolling it: 7 points.

[I'll be away for a couple of hours now, keep up the good fight]

Embla Strand said...

Let's rest here.

Alexis Smolensk said...

Sorry, lost power on all devices.

Yes, you can REST here, on the ledge; full rest. It is just a little uncomfortable for the less adventurous among you.

Unknown said...

Then we are resting here. I'll apologize to the porters, and thank them for their help (I don't know how much longer Fjall and I would have lasted).

Rob Munro said...

I maintain my vote : rest here

Alexis Smolensk said...

Understood. There's no need to spin this out further.

Everyone should eat another 2 lbs. of food. Everyone should be considered fully rested. Everyone gains hit points equal to their level. Regain your spells, ready yourselves ... and we can continue to the throne room.

Yes?

Unknown said...

I would say yes.

Embla Strand said...

Yes.

Engelhart Askjellson said...

Make it happen.

Alexis Smolensk said...

We'll start there, then.

After some issues with work staff, I'm being moved in hours. I must now change my days to Tuesday and Wednesday. Is that fine with everyone?

Engelhart Askjellson said...

Absolutely.

Embla Strand said...

Yes - that is fine for me.

Unknown said...

Makes no difference to me

Rob Munro said...

That works for me.

Lothar Svensson said...

Tuesday and Wednesday are great.

Rob Munro said...

[here]

Embla Strand said...

[me too]

Lothar Svensson said...

[Here]

Unknown said...

[Here]

Engelhart Askjellson said...

Present.

Alexis Smolensk said...

[jeez, I'm always last. Here]

If everyone has accounted for food, and hit points, can we determine who is going forward? Does the party heading to the throne room include the porters?

Once that's settled, we can move onto the throne room.

Unknown said...

I would bring them. The purpose is to set up a more permanent campsite, after all.

Rob Munro said...

Food is accounted for.
I go to the throne room.
I would bring them as well.

Engelhart Askjellson said...

Yes, the whole train ought to go.

I'll take the point, with my AC 4, maul and lantern combo in hand.

Let's go.
