Appearance

Pardon me while I interrupt the narrative.

I would like if you could answer some questions about your character.  Please keep your answers simple and to the point, if possible.  Some of this is information I could take the time looking up, or I could just get you to tell me quickly and easily, saving me time.

  • What is your character's preferred hand-to-hand weapon (proficiencies only)?
  • What armor are you wearing most of the time?
  • Are you usually wearing a helmet or do you envision yourself as bareheaded most of the time?
  • If you prefer a helmet, what sort is it?
  • What is the general color of your clothing?
  • What is the top layer of clothing worn over your shoulders?
  • Are you usually wearing gauntlets or are you barehanded most of the time?
  • What is your hair color and description from the character generator?

Take your time and give it some thought.  This is how you're going to look most of the time.

Now, the rest of you, don't get too rattled by this.  I'll be working on these in order of posting.  Aleksandra was just first, is all.

The hardest part of doing Lothar is actually getting a good balance on his 98 lbs. size.  I messed with the length of his arms for quite a while.  Sorry, Lothar, I decided to have your leather armor under your dress; let me know if there's something you'd like changed:

I have to say that drawing "wheaten" hair against a pale nordic skin presents a contrast issue: but I still think this works for Rowan the Druid, who was next in the order:

This one makes me think the player is just trying to push me to see what I'll do.  This is my first character with a beard; I tried something different with the war hammer (which I'm yet unhappy with), and I even got the cross in:

And here, at last, is Gudbrand.  I tried to make his hair straighter than that of the other characters, but I didn't seem to manage it.  No question, there are still limits on hair.  I'm not really happy with the clenched, hand, either ~ looks like a prosthetic.  But at least this looks something like the picture for Gudbrand's character:

Handaxe.

Leather (or, I will once I can buy some).

No helmet but a dark hijab.

Clothing tends towards the dark grey/black. She wears desert-style robes, which would also cover the shoulders.

Usually barehanded.

Tawny hair, moderately straight, with a small bald patch (for a female character?)

Clothing is greens and browns.

Cloak over the shoulders.

No gauntlets.

Hair is wheaten, luxuriantly curled and prematurely graying. Sea Green Eyes.

Hand to hand weapon: Warhammer and wooden Shield.

Armor: Chain/Scale maille, though I wear Leather at present

Helm: none

Clothing colors: black and grey, sober colors

Top layer: Wolf fur greatcoat, unbuttoned to allow for the armor, prominent wooden cross dangling from the neck

Gauntlets: yes.

Hair: tawny, with luxuriant curls and with a healthy growth. All that luxuriance means a beard, too.

Hand to hand weapon: hand axe

Usual armor: leather

Head: I will usually be bareheaded

Helmet: none

General clothing color: I'll specify by item and if any of them are too specific without paying extra for dye, tell me so. Dark gray breeches, white shirt, natural (undyed) boots, tan doublet, frock is this color).

Top layer of clothing: a frock robe, and I wear it somewhat loose: fewer edges for my silhouette

Gauntlets: I don't wear gauntlets but I do wear gray gloves.

Hair: wheaten, moderately straight and with thorough graying. (The pic on my profile is one from the web. The guy has nice blond hair which I tried to gray up a little in photoshop.)

Alexis: How about creating a thread where lurkers can post their thoughts & comments on whats happening?

I'd like to have the opportunity to comment here and there without derailing the action thread.

Done, Scott. Please feel free to comment on the main blog. Players too, obviously.

Hey folks. Sorry for jumping the gun. I'll do better in the future.

I look rad as hell. If I charge recklessly ahead, I retain the right to blame at least 10% of that on how badass I'm going to look doing it.

Engelhart is looking great!

Agreed, that beard is outstanding!

Can elves grow beards? I might want me some of that beardy goodness... :)

"This is my rifle. There are many others like it but this one's mine".

In my defense, note that I didn't make an angle for anything that I thought was unimportant or spurious. Standing out from the crowd is defo important.

My only quibble would be that I envisioned wielding more of a blockheaded warhammer, definitely more barbaric and less sofisticated than the one represented. I only quibble because I've noticed you can change things up, else I'd stay shut.

Lastly, have I mentioned how big the hammer is? I mean, not unlike I'm compensating for something or anything like that! *wink*
